Mazda has put the word “multiple” in the Multiple Passenger Vehicle (MVP) with the Mazda MVP. Capable of handling 7 people comfortably in both bucket and bench seating, the Mazda MVP will cart the whole team or a fair amount of groceries to feed the whole team. The MVP comes in three different models, the LX-SV, LX and ES. All contain a 3.0 litre 200hp V-6 engine with a 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The MVP is also front wheel drive with the option of all wheel traction control. With capacity in mind, the Mazda MVP’s suspension is designed to handle the weight, with a front and rear anti-roll bar and rear torsion beam suspension, and with gas-pressurized shocks.
Safety is a big concern with Mazda. With 4 wheel vented disc brakes and ABS you are assured that you’ll stop when you need to. The front impact driver and passenger airbags as well as side seat mounted driver and passenger seat mounted airbags will keep you safe. There are also side impact bars to add rigidity and strength.
Interior features and options include a powered sunroof, roof racks, cargo nets and tie downs, rear air conditioning (with filter), rear heater, and a multitude of radio options with Sirius Satellite radio and steering wheel controls. For those unsettled trips with children, there is a rear entertainment system with DVD. There is even a Home Link Wireless control system that can be tailored to opening and starting remote items like garage doors. The Mazda MVP is a superb utility vehicle that provides plenty of comfort and styling.
Current model series include:
- Mazda MPV 3
