Model Update
These are built tough, and the latest Toyota Coaster has extensive use of anti-corrosion steels, anti-chip paint applied to front and rear wheel arches, tinted windows protecting the interior upholstery, and Toyota’s standard high level of mechanical reliability.
As you’ll be carrying passengers – and plenty of them – the Toyota Coaster provides comfortable seats with generous headroom and legroom, ample space between seats, high ceiling, large windows and a four-speaker, MP3 compatible CD sound system. Air-conditioning, cloth seats, heating and tinted windows make travelling very relaxed.
As most of the Coaster’s passenger seats are mounted with single posts you’ll find that legroom is enhanced, and that the passengers can easily fit their baggage under the seats. The driver can keep in touch with the inbuilt Bluetooth communications system. Also, travel information can be relayed to the passengers via a Public Address (PA) system and microphone.
The new Toyota Coaster boasts long tapered rear leaf springs and independent front suspension with double wishbones and upper torsion bar. The result is a stable, comfortable ride.
Scenic runs, trips to outdoor adventure activities, music tours, wine tasting tours, transporting sports teams, … and the list goes on. Solid, reliable vehicles need to be engaged for the task of carrying large groups of people to and from exciting Australian destinations. That is why Toyota have built a purpose-built coach that can carry 21 people (including the driver) seated in a wonderfully welcoming environment. The seats are extremely comfortable, and the drive train of the Toyota Coaster is powerful and durable, making long trips relaxing and swift. What more could you want from a medium-sized bus? The elegant Toyota Coaster delivers the quality you need for delivering passengers.
All passengers onboard a Coaster have a two-point type seatbelt with an emergency locking retractor. To add to the fantastic safety kit a premium Anti-skid Braking System that uses modern electronics and a hydraulic actuator that compares and adjusts wheel speeds when braking to prevent any wheel lock-up from occurring comes standard. The Toyota ABS includes a sophisticated gravel road strategy, which in the special circumstance of braking on a gravel road ensures that the tyres brake through the loose gravel to maximize stopping power. There are four emergency exits. Simple things can make a huge difference in the safety stakes and that is why the Toyota Coaster has a very visible side turn signal indicator, large rear stop lights and extremely powerful headlamps.
The driver will enjoy a smooth, authoritative 4.0 litre turbo-diesel engine that eats the miles away with ease. The smooth action five-speed manual is a pleasure to use, and if you’re anything like me the joy of putting a bus through its gears is a pleasure not a chore. A robust four-speed automatic comes as standard on the Toyota Coaster Deluxe model, and all models boast power steering that makes the tight 14.4m turning circle a breeze. A complete Toyota servicing schedule makes owning your Coaster more economical because only Toyota can promise you the same small servicing costs service after service. Toyota actually promises that you pay just $350 per service for up to the first 6 standard scheduled services over 3 years or 60,000km – whichever comes first.
Climb onboard and you will notice some of the very important features that make travelling in the Toyota Coaster a pleasure. An MP3 compatible single disk CD player with an audio input jack comes standard. There is a large passenger compartment heater, and air conditioning for the Deluxe and A/C standard models. Tinted windows help get rid of unwanted heat and glare from the hot Aussie sunshine.
This bus is a must to check out.
The current model series includes:
- Toyota Coaster Standard
