Model Review Update
This year the 2010 Lexus IS 250 is as sharp as ever. Swooping lines, many features and a very crisp engine make for a medium sized car that satisfies immensely.
The engine is a 2.5-litre that is quick in its acceleration and swift on the open road. Handling and road holding are top class.
Inside a new Lexus IS 250 the leather seats provide comfort and support, while nice trimmings and interior colours add an air of sophistication. One standout feature is the way that the instrument cluster is simple and beautifully crafted and laid out. The restyled speedometer/tachometer display provides clear information. Glare–free instrumentation, and three–dimensional LED instrumentation is a very chic addition in the IS250
Imagine walking up to the Lexus IS 250 in the dark. Well, at the touch of a button the exterior mirror and the door lock now illuminate for ease of finding the car’s door after dark.
Auto retracting mirrors, heated front seats, adjustable rear headrests, a 14-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, USB connection, iPod functionality, MP3/WMA compatibility, Bluetooth communications, an electric rear sunshade and satellite navigation are a few of the goodies. But to finish off, the 2010 Lexus IS 250 boasts Australia’s highest safety rating for the Australasian New car Assessment Programme, to date.
Don’t forget: there is also the Lexus IS 250C cabriolet model, and the scintillating Lexus IS F – which is shatteringly quick.
Performance and luxury. That’s what you get when you drive the Lexus IS250.
The sleek mid sized IS250 is powered by a 2.5 litre, 152 kW, V6 engine which will swiftly move you along with impressive engine performance. Standard on the Lexus IS250, is a six-speed automatic transmission that provides exceptional torque at any engine speed. The efficient and smooth progress of the refined engine and transmission helps save on petrol costs. To save on petrol, a direct injection system pumps petrol directly into the engines combustion chamber.
The Lexus IS250 is also available in all-wheel-drive, and this offers magnificent traction and stability levels. The car feels a masterpiece of chassis design, and, to further assist in its handling prowess and improved tire grip, a sport-tuned suspension is available which not only provides a very comfortable ride but helps the driver maintain control on all those tight corners you’ll be gunning the car through. Mounted on the steering wheel, are sequential paddle shifters that enable the driver to have more control of the vehicles automatic transmission.
The outside of the motor car is also exceptional to review.. The low slung body line, aggressive headlights and wide tyres offer some of the most striking lines on the market. The wide stance, low roof line and improved aerodynamics help to provide the IS250 with a very low drag co-efficient. Less drag through the air also means that there is less drain on the pocket when it comes to filling the vehicle up at the pump.
There are some nice touches to be found on the mid-sized Lexus. Rain-sensing wipers help to detect the presence of rain on the windscreen. Adaptive front lighting makes going round corners at night safer. When going around corners, the headlights pivot toward the turn allowing you to see better, as well as keeping glare from the oncoming driver’s eyes. Another innovative feature is the “Reverse Tilt-Down exterior mirrors” that tilt down automatically when the vehicle is placed in reverse.
There is a wide range of interior options which are able to suit nearly every taste. From voice activated navigation systems, to satellite radio and a 14 speaker 7.1 channel audio system being amongst some of the impressive features on display. Built into the onboard navigation screen is a reverse camera. This allows you to view what is behind your vehicle, before you back up. There are heated/ventilated front seats, as well as a sound -absorbing sun visor.
The Lexus IS250 starts around $50K. It is not only very sporty, but superbly luxurious. This is a car to warm the driving enthusiast’s heart and we hope that you enjoyed this Lexus IS250 review.
