Looking for a tough off-roading SUV that rides like a Cadillac? The Lexus LX 470 is just that vehicle.
This is a refined big 4X4 that offers luxurious comforts, as well as excellent off-roading capabilities. How can this be? The Lexus LX 470 offers much of the same high tech features that Lexus’s top-notch flagship model has; the LS 430. With a 4.7 litre, 200 kW V8 petrol engine that provides more than enough power for anything you may encounter. The sophisticated the full-time four-wheel drive transmission keeps you on the road, whatever your terrain might be.
Like the LS 430 sedan, the Lexus LX470 has many of the same features. An Adaptive Suspension allows you to adjust the ride to your particular preferences. Variable Steering Control adjusts the steering responsiveness based on the vehicle’s speed. However, the Lexus LX470 has some innovative features of its own. A locking centre differential means equal power can be sent to both the front and rear wheels to give the driver maximum traction for when conditions get really tough. There is also an adjustable height control which enables the driver to elevate the vehicle to three different settings: low, normal or high. This adjustment increases or decreases the clearance depending on the situation. Low reduces the vehicle’s centre of gravity and provides a smoother ride, also this level allows for easier occupant access through its big doors when the vehicle is parked. High is perfect for off-road adventurers, and it raises the front and rear of the vehicle accordingly. Some of the vehicles active safety features also assist the driver. Vehicle Stability Control monitors the vehicle’s anti-lock brakes and traction control. The system senses when the vehicle is being taken off-road and compensates the vehicles movements as required.
The interior allows room for eight passengers to be seated in complete opulence. All you have to do is choose the trimmings. Like me, you might like the beautifully crafted soft leather option. Truly, there is a mountainous list of luxury and convenience items. From a moon roof to a DVD based navigation system to a sound system that contains a 6 disk DVD/CD auto changer. The premium audio system has automatic sound levelling controls with separate rear-seat controls.
Safety features abound. There are air bags all around the cabin. You have windscreen wipers that sense the rain automatically. There is even a first aid kit that comes as standard.
If you’re looking for that SUV that combines a luxurious comfort and ride with incredible off-roading capability, then the Lexus LX 470 is the SUV for you.
