The Lexus RX 400h is one serious hybrid.
This is a lusty SUV machine that is powered by a petrol V6 engine which uses powerful electric motors to generate high torque levels. The Lexus RX 400h has a combined petrol/electric output of 155 kW, making the big machine capable of accelerating from 0-100 kph in a little over 7 seconds. Not bad for an SUV! Bristling with technology, the Lexus RX400h boasts an electronically controlled variable transmission that efficiently distributes the hybrid power for top-end performance at all speeds.
The electronic power steering helps provide the driver with a confident feel on the road, and when combined with regenerative braking which takes heat energy, when the brakes are applied, and converts it to electrical energy to help recharge the battery the driver can enjoy knowing that the RX400h is leading the rest of the world.
Lexus means “excellence”, so it should come as no surprise to find the RX 400h has adaptive front headlights that pivot when rounding corners. In addition, rain sensing wipers that detect rain on the windscreen are standard. There is also a powered rear cargo hatch that can be easily opened by a button in the cabin or from the keyless entrance system. The RX 400h also comes with integrated fog lamps and privacy glass.
The inside of the Lexus RX 400h is tastefully accented with brushed aluminium and electroluminescent gauges. The vehicle is packed with luxury, and boasts a voice activated navigation system, auto dimming mirrors, satellite radio, Bluetooth systems and a top-end stereo system that is awe inspiring. One of the interesting internal features is the 40/20/40 split rear seat. This feature has the rear seats sliding forward and backward for greater versatility. Packed with premium luxury items, the Lexus RX400h pampers and caresses like no other 4×4 SUV can.
Simply a joy to drive and own, the environmentally friendly RX400h is sure to satisfy, particularly when one considers the excellent 4yr/100,000 km warranty on offer by Lexus. Enjoy!
