Preparation for any journey in a new car should be one of excitement and discovery. New to the luxury end of the market is the all new Audi A4 Sedan. With a base model 1.8 TFSI featuring electric windows, air-conditioning, leather/leatherette seats, five arm alloy wheels, a front centre armrest and 125 kW, there is enough nice features to make this an attractive buy into a premium car brand. Your first time behind the wheel of the new Audi A4 Sedan won’t be the last time you’ll enjoy the talented, comfortable equanimity of Audi’s mid-sizer. This is a rewarding drive.
Wet drizzly days can get you down a bit. Grey weather and cold, damp conditions are best avoided, but when you drive with the precision of the latest A4 technology, conditions like this can be mastered and enjoyed. To start with, the Audi A4 Sedan comes with first rate safety systems. An air bag for driver and front seat passenger, a rear side airbag system, separate daytime running lights and Halogen headlights are standard items on even the entry level A4 Sedan. Automatic air-conditioning works to keep you snug inside while the rain pelts down on the road ahead. On the road, it is evident that Audi has the mix right for the A4 Sedan. The car’s composed road behaviour provides the driver with great feedback and confidence even in the wet. Of course, the added bonus of Audi’s amazing Quattro AWD system for some of the performance A4 Sedans means that you’re equipped with superior traction in the wet.
Even if the day is cloudy and you’re feeling a little glum, the quality of an A4 Sedan gives you a lift. Dash and switchgear are styled with classy materials and suave styling. An array of inlays are available to suit your tastes – reflex material, aluminium and wood veneers are always smart. Then there is the option of Audi’s sexy leather seating and trim – which is surely hard to better, anywhere.

The new Audi A4 Sedan is loaded with premium features, and technology under the skin. Mode settings for the A4 Sedan depend on the way you drive. The car adjusts accordingly to the way you happen to feel like driving. For example, in every mode, Audi drive select interacts with engine, automatic transmission and steering. In addition, you can influence the suspension with damper regulation, the dynamic steering, the cornering light, cruise control, adaptive cruise control, and the Quattro system which boasts a sports differential. Obviously, the level of adjustment will depend on the equipment present in your particular A4 Sedan. Engine and gears react more spontaneously or in a more balanced manner to movements of the accelerator, depending on the mode chosen. Efficiency mode will, obviously, improve consumption values.
Audi Active lane Assist works to keep you on the right side of the road at speeds for 60 km/h through to 250 km/h. Side Assist also keeps an eye on what cars are coming up in close vicinity to the side of your vehicle – great for any blind spots. Adaptive cruise control monitors your speed so that you can progress safely and avoid unwanted speeding fines.
A comprehensively talented machine in all areas, efficient, performance diesel and petrol engines available; the Audi A4 Sedan is a pleaser.
