Superlatives run wild when gazing upon the Audi S6 body work. Exquisite, immaculate, outstanding and, simply, very beautiful come to mind. From the large chrome grill that makes a bold statement about class and status to the four silver circles that make up the Audi emblem – perhaps the emblem itself captures the meaning of a full circle: complete, whole and united. The elegant new Audi S6 has stunned onlookers across Europe, and now is capturing the hearts of the true blue Aussie down under. The gentle curves sweep effortlessly over the powerful bonnet lines of the A6, up and over the tear shaped roofline and down onto the muscular rear haunches where the A6 is finished off elegantly with a detailed lip at the rear, chrome quad exhaust outlets and sharp rear light clusters. Designed for the senses and for speed, the impressive Audi S6 makes for some stiff competition aimed squarely against the best from BMW, Jag and Merc rivals.
But what’s at the heart of the pumping Audi S6 that makes it such potent competition? First of all, there is the impeccable build quality and style. Then there is the Audi S6 chassis and drive train that ensures that the car is held down squat on the road with colossal levels of premium grip. And to finish off, there is power for Africa lurking under the raked bonnet lines.
Impeccable build quality starts with the highly sophisticated manufacturing plants that keep stringent quality control checks across the factory floors. The fit and finish of any Audi is faultless. Safety for the big saloon is at a premium level, and the strength of the body shell leads the way. An array of airbags in the S6 – driver, passenger and front side (plus optional rear side) – together with front seat belt pre-tensioners mean that in the event of a collision you will be highly protected. ESP links the S6’s control systems together for even greater safety, handling and agility. The optional adaptive light system features dynamic cornering and static turning lights that swivel while driving in response to the steering wheel angle and speed. Audi’s back guard, in the event of a rear-end collision, enables the seats to hold the upper body of the occupant in place. The rear seats help support the head. There is, of course, safety in Audi’s world class dynamic chassis that boasts a four-link front suspension and trapezoidal link rear suspension. This is always in touch with Audi’s Electronic Stabilisation Program (ESP) which incorporates Traction Control (ASR), Electronic Differential Lock (EDL) and the highly regarded Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with brake assist. The quattro permanent all-wheel drive system leads the world for grip and traction, and when it is linked to the beautifully weighted servotronic speed sensitive steering and the tuned sports suspension, you are in for the ride of your life.
Interior luxury, fit and finish, style and comfort leave you with a driving experience that pampers and cossets you your whole journey through. The Audi S6 comes ready loaded with high-end luxury items.
Fire up the V10 5.2 litre power plant, and the engine note settles to a sweet and smooth symphony. Prod the accelerator, and the engine responds instantly with a growl. The 320 kW of scintillating muscle twists the engine torque figures right up to a maximum of 520 Nm, and the way in which the six-speed automatic transmission communicates with the engine power is not only instantaneous but incredibly slick. The 0-100 km/h can be shattered in just 6.8 seconds and, under the right conditions, the car can rocket to 250 km/h (Governed).
Drive the Audi S6 experience and create a gateway to motoring freedom.
